Hey there, friends! We’re all about creating a safe and welcoming environment for everyone who joins our events. It’s super important that we respect each other’s diverse perspectives and experiences. Our events are a great place to share and discuss ideas in a friendly and respectful way. This Event Code of Conduct helps us ensure that everyone feels included and supported.
So, here’s the deal: all participants—whether you’re an attendee, speaker, volunteer, exhibitor, or part of the media—are expected to follow this code. It applies to all activities related to the event, whether they take place in-person or online.
What We Expect From You
- Be kind, respectful, and considerate to everyone around you. Embrace the variety of opinions and experiences, even if you don’t agree with them.
- Communicate openly and respectfully, focusing on ideas instead of attacking individuals.
- Avoid any behavior or speech that could be seen as demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing.
- Stay aware of your surroundings and fellow participants. If you see something concerning, let event staff know.
- Respect the rules of all venues where events are held.
What We Don’t Tolerate
Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination will not fly here. This includes:
- Any form of physical or verbal abuse.
- Offensive comments or exclusionary behavior.
- Inappropriate physical contact or unwanted sexual attention.
- Using discriminatory images in presentations or public areas.
- Intimidation or stalking of any kind.
- Disruption of events or bullying behavior.
- Retaliation against anyone who reports unacceptable behavior.
During our events, we reserve the right to take necessary action, including immediate removal without warning or refund for anyone displaying unacceptable behavior. We’ll follow up on any complaints after the event wraps up.
If You Feel Unsafe
If you notice something that poses an immediate threat to safety, please contact local authorities right away.
Reporting Issues
If you feel uncomfortable or have witnessed unacceptable behavior, reach out to an event staff member or a board member. They’ll work with leadership to address your concerns. You can also share your experience through our blog where we discuss sleep and snoring topics, like how to enjoy a silent night this holiday season.
We want to make sure everyone has a good time, so please report any incidents promptly.
